Why do people hardly ever put their attention towards the dames rather than the sires ? The dames are the ones who influence the potential the most and not the sires ! So it needs really good bloodlines and mares to finally have the world champions ..
Most established, well-respected breeders do put an extreme emphasis on the quality of the mares and the strength of the damline in their programs. The stallions get more press, but no stallion owner will ever discount the importance of the mare in making a successful match.

I like. My Good jumping horse, with Cor de la B. blood is still jumping in France age 21 (2016) but not International 1.45m as he used to jump, but now 1.20m or 1.10m. you can't beat the Great blood to put Heart into a Good horse.
